Anderson Cooper Comes Out Of The Closet: “I Am Gay”

His sexuality has been a hot topic of conversation for many years, and finally one of CNN’s most famous newsmen, Anderson Cooper has openly admitted he is gay. “The fact is, I’m gay, always have been, always will be, and I couldn’t be any more happy, comfortable with myself, and proud,” Anderson says in a statement.

In a report culled from The Daily Beast, Anderson emailed Andrew Sullivan over a recent story ran by Entertainment Weekly about gay people in public life, and the AC 360 anchorman was one of the people named in the story.

Anderson said he never wanted to make a big issue out of his sexuality, which is why his first official comments on the issue appearing in a story about public figures casually coming out seems appropriate.
