Miss Rhode Island, Olivia Culpo, Crowned Miss USA 2012

20 year-old Olivia Culpo and Miss Rhode Island has been crowned the new Miss USA

Olivia, a sophomore at Boston University, will represent USA in the Miss Universe pageant coming up later in the year.

Born to professional musician parents, Peter and Susan Culpo, Olivia has been playing the cello since second grade.

Olivia is the first ever Rhode Islander  to win the competition beating  out the runner-up Miss Maryland Nana Meriwether, and the second runner up Miss Ohio Audrey Bolte.
