Resident of the Islamist state have been protesting about ‘vulgar’ Gaga and threatening to ‘burn the stage’ should the singer dare come to Indonesia to perform. Lady Gaga later took to her Twitter page to express her love to fans that has already purchased tickets for the show and also gave some tough love to her haters.
She wrote: “There is nothing Holy about hatred.”
“We had to cancel the concert in Indonesia.
“I’m so very sorry to the fans and just as devastated as you if not more. You are everything to me.
“I will try to put together something special for you.
“My love for Indonesia has only grown. #GagaSendsLoveToJakarta and all its people.”
Police authorities refused to issue permit for the show because the protestors were unhappy that Gaga was bringing her sexually explicit show, racy choreography and support for gay rights to Indonesia.
Gaga was said to have agreed to even tone down her raunchy acts so that show could go on, but the security agencies said they could not guarantee her safety as the protesters threatened to intercept her as soon as she touched down in Indonesia.
Many Protestors were seen carrying placards saying, ‘Thanks to God for protecting us from a kind of devil’ and posters with her face crossed out reading, ‘Go to hell, Lady Gaga’.
