American Idol winner Phillip Phillips To Undergo Kindney Surgery Ahead Of Summer Tour
“American Idol” 2012 winner Phillip Phillips is set undergo kidney surgery any moment from now after battling severe and chronic kidney stones throughout the season.
The 21-year-old singer from Leesburg, Ga., has been advised by his doctors to go under the scapel immediately to prevent futher damages that may hinder his blossoming career. During a call-in to TV show host Kelly Ripa of “Live With Kelly,” Phillip explained that he wouldn’t be able to make his scheduled appearance next week.
“I’ve been sick this whole show, i’m trying to get all my work done, to recover. I’ll be having [surgery] here soon. I’m getting prepared for all that. I’m ready to feel better, feel like myself,” he said.
Phillips had to cut short his rehearsals and returned to Georgia two weeks ago to see his family doctor, who said the singer needed immediate surgery as the problems became so severe that physicians put in a stent to temporarily fix the difficulty.
Ureteric stents are thin tubes inserted into the ureter to prevent obstruction of urine flow from the kidneys.
American Idol producers are doing everything possible to get him up and running before the Summer Tour starting in Detroit on July 9.
Wishing him speedy recovery.
